PROFILE OF THE PROVINCIAL HEALTH AUTHORITY OF RAGUSA

The Provincial Health Authority of Ragusa (A.S.P. - Azienda Sanitaria Provinciale di Ragusa) has been established on September 1st, 2009 by the unification of the Local Health Authority No. 7 (A.U.S.L. n.7) and the Hospital Authority “Civile – OMPA” (Azienda Ospedaliera “Civile – OMPA”) – Registered Office: 1 Piazza Igea, ZIP code: 97100, Ragusa.

VISION

The Provincial Health Authority of Ragusa is committed to “developing integrations, alliances, synergies with the local and national context, in order to enrich the existing social capital and to enhance the provision of health care services, in a perspective of a continuous improvement of results. Moreover, its vision consists in developing and valorizing the human capital and its commitment in providing standard and excellence performances, as well as sustaining its founding values.

INSTITUTIONAL MISSION

The Provincial Health Authority of Ragusa is committed in defending and promoting health, of both individuals and the citizenry. These purposes are carried out by the means of prevention, illness treatment and health recovery activities. The Essential healthcare levels (LEA: Livelli Essenziali di Assistenza) are ensured and the integration between territorial and hospital medical assistance is reinforced, in order to guarantee, to the citizens, the highest quality of life. A.S.P. Ragusa provides health services both directly and by the means of other, public and private, National Health Service (SSN: Servizio Sanitario Nazionale) affiliated organizations. A.S.P. Ragusa provides services assuring, security, privacy and respect of the individual. It coincides, territorially, with the territory of the Province of Ragusa, and it includes, consequently, all of its Municipalities. A.S.P. Ragusa operates on the territory by means of three Primary Health Districts.
